Week 5
THEME OF THE WEEK: Fears and healing
I invite you to reflect this week on if having cancer has created fear in your life and how that is showing up for you.
—Are you experiencing fear of recurrence, or fear of dying?
—How has fear impacted your life?
—What is your stress level now?
—How does it feel to have less doctor visits in your near future? (and you can be honest…for many patients this creates an element of fear)
Notice when fear arises, what triggers it and how it feels in your body, and document these moments. Documenting can be in the form of journaling, capturing a photo of the moment with a short caption, or taking a quick video with your commentary.
Next I invite you to reflect on what actions you are taking or plan to take to facilitate the healing process.
—For one, I commend you for completing this mindfulness program, which most definitely is a step towards creating the conditions for healing!!
—What other actions are you taking to care for yourself? How are you creating space for healing?
Once you have instituted the mindfulness practices in the recordings below, you may also add to your journaling and documenting if/when you notice a positive benefit or change in your thought processes.
