mindfulness for breast cancer treatment
Welcome to the Circle of Hope. As a radiation oncologist, I found myself frequently faced with patients, like you, who are struggling to get through treatments because of various emotional, physical and existential challenges. I created this program for you, to help you apply the principles of mindfulness to your life during cancer treatment. Studies show this not only improves your quality of life, it also impacts survival in a positive way. THANK YOU FOR TAKING THIS JOURNEY WITH ME. With heartfulness, Dr. Ellen Cooke
wHAT IS MINDFULNESS?
Mindfulness is a way of being in which you attend to your life’s experiences with certain attitudes, those of present moment attention (focusing your attention on the here and now, not in the past or future), acceptance (allowing what is to be) and nonjudgment (seeing things as they are without applying labels like good or bad).
in this 5-week program, you will:
-Encounter a weekly theme that draws your attention to your thoughts, and how those thoughts may be affecting your experience
-Practice a short guided meditation 5 days a week
-Keep a journal about your thoughts and emotions and how the mindfulness practices are impacting you
